Joan Singleton was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She was raised by her grandparents being as her mother died when she was 19 months old.
Joan was an only child born to her mother.
Her grandparents had seven children, then when Joan’s mother died they obtained legal guardianship of her. So now she had four brothers and two sisters ( legally)
At twenty two years old Joan met her biological father, and at that time found out she had two younger half sisters and one half brother. Joan has two daughters, a grandson and a granddaughter.
In her household, music played a huge role in her life. Joan’s family loved music.
As a child she remembers it always being on either the tv or the radio.
“I have always had a love for music. That good ole classic traditional country music. I sing Karaoke, a lot.” says Joan
Her hobbies include; singing, dancing, spending time with her grand kids, listening to music, promoting her Echota Artists, hanging out with friends, and living life to her fullest potential.
Joan’s musical influences are Lori Morgan, Dottie West, Tanya Tucker, Tammy Wynette, Rhonda Vincent, Dolly Parton, and George Jones, Conway Twitty, Charley Pride, Gene Watson, Vern Gosdin, just to name a few.
As a young adult she worked as a waitress, a secretary for Michelin Tire Corporation in the Security department.
“Close to three years ago I was honored to have met up with Donna Ray at Echota Records USA. And eventually was made an Admin in the group page on facebook and most recently been promoted to Video Promoter.” says Joan
“My goal is to one day climb the ladder of success in Echota Records. And can make my dream of singing duets with some of our great artist. And who knows, Maybe one day have my own solo act. But, for now, I am honored beyond words to be included in such an inquisitive magazine alongside some of the greatest!!” says Joan
