Marion Randell developed an interest in country music at an early age, inspired by the music of Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline and Emmylou Harris.
After singing with a couple of bands she started her solo career by recording her first album “Downtown Austin” in the Austin Recording Studio in Austin, Texas, early March 1997. She was lucky to win some of the best musicians in Austin, like two-times Grammy Award Winner Floyd Domino (Piano, Asleep at theWheel), Marty Muse (steel guitar), Larry Seyer (guitars), Dany Levin (fiddle, Asleep at the Wheel), just to name a few.
The album rapidly jumped into different radio country music charts in Europe, she’s been the most played artist in Europe for weeks AND: she was taken to the Entry List for the 40th Grammy Award Show of the National Academy for Signs and Arts Incorporation. In six categories!
The European Country Music Association honoured her as well as the Independent Country Music Association Germany.
1998 she recorded her secondalbum „Long time gone“, which was produced and recorded again in Austin, Texas. With the her same studio crew.
In 2001 she changed her winning team and went to Dallas, TX, to record and produce her album “Tell my Heart”, together with Mike McClain.
And it was worth while. The result was an A-class album with beautiful, traditional Country Music.
Again, unmistakable Marion’s beautiful voice has its proper effects and again you recognize her on her new fresh twangy Texas sound from the great LoneStar State. (label:TYROLIS, Austria)
